William Darrick was our Halloween baby. As we so often teased him, we're not sure if he was a trick or a treat. He was born 27 hours after the first indications that he wanted to make his appearance in the base hospital at what was 4 (F) Wing, Baden-Soellingen in the Federal Republic of Germany. That is what was referred to as West Germany in those days.

Darrick spent several years in the Canadian Forces with the Royal Canadian Regiment but left the service shortly after the incident at Oka in Quebec. He is now lumbering or fishing in New Brunswick depending on the season.
