Daven Raymond... an afternoon birth! What a unique concept! We should have thought about that years ago. The last member of our family was also born at the Riverside Hospital. Nothing happened at all. Another plus. WRONG!! Daven was an accident waiting to happen. Always moving. Always finding something new to frighten the pants off his parents and turn them gray. I think he was the originator of the phrase…"cut & stitch". OK, there is no phrase but it's close. He has survived and he and his girlfriend, Anna Lee Shepherd, at the time of this writing, are expecting their first child. They tell me that the ultrasound tells them that it's a boy. I say…"wait and see"..

Alexander MacKenzie at 6 months

Daven has worked with the military for some time now…in the Reserves. He served from February to August 1999 with the NATO force in Bosnia and was awarded the NATO Medal for service there.

His unit also sent us a miniature of the medal and a certificate for our support of this endeavor. Hey…it's our country we supported but it was very much appreciated.

Medal Presentation July 1999

They were right. Alexander Mackenzie was born at 11:05, January 20th, 2000. A healthy and hefty 8 lbs 5.3oz bundle and a whooping 20.5 inches head to toe.
